TH12 farming sees Super Goblins replace regular ones — they move faster, hit harder, and can clear an unprotected core before your defenses respond. Strong TH12 farming bases use the Scattershot to punish Super Goblin swarms and keep DE behind multiple wall layers with no single-breach path to it.
TH12 is where Super Troops arrive — and the Super Goblin changes farming forever. Super Goblins move at roughly double the speed of regular Goblins, still deal double damage to resources, and can cover your entire base interior in seconds once walls are breached. A farming base that worked at TH11 often leaks thousands of DE at TH12 because it wasn't designed around Super Goblin speed.
Regular Goblins reach a storage and stay there. Super Goblins reach a storage, clear it, and immediately sprint to the next one. In the time it takes your Mortars and Archer Towers to kill the initial swarm, Super Goblins can hit three separate storages. This means even a well-placed Earthquake breach gives attackers more value per troop than at TH11.
The counter is distance. Your DE Storage needs to be far enough from any wall that Super Goblins can't sprint there after an Earthquake breach without crossing a second compartment first. The Scattershot helps too — its splash damage punishes tight Goblin clusters.
The Scattershot is typically thought of as an anti-air defense, but its bouncing boulder hits clusters of ground troops too. Super Goblin swarms entering a compartment in a tight formation take significant Scattershot damage. Position one Scattershot near your DE core covering the most likely breach corridor. This doesn't stop Super Goblins, but it cuts their numbers and slows the swarm enough for other defenses to finish the job.
The Giga Tesla makes the Town Hall itself deal damage during raids. This doesn't make the TH valuable to bury deep — in farming bases, the TH is still semi-exposed bait that gives attackers a star and a shield while protecting your DE. What the Giga Tesla does is add chip damage to any army that reaches the TH, making it a slightly more expensive snipe than at lower levels.
At TH12, you're upgrading the Royal Champion with DE plus continuing Queen, King, and Warden upgrades. All four heroes need DE simultaneously. The farming pressure is at its peak. Gold and Elixir matter for Builder Machine upgrades, but DE remains the bottleneck. Keep your two DE Drills and DE Storage in the core behind the Scattershot's coverage area. How do I defend against Super Goblins in a TH12 farming base?
Two approaches work together: double-layered compartments so Super Goblins need a second Earthquake breach to reach the DE Storage, and Scattershot coverage over the core to punish tight Super Goblin clusters with splash damage. A Clan Castle with Valkyries or Witches also slows Super Goblin swarms significantly.
Should the Royal Champion be near the DE Storage for farming defense?
Placing the Royal Champion inside the DE core adds a hero who specifically attacks nearby troops. The Champion can kill multiple Goblins per second and draws their attack priority briefly. It's a meaningful addition to DE core defense, particularly against Super Goblin swarms that reach the inner ring.
Is protecting the Giga Tesla Town Hall worth it in a TH12 farming base?
No. Keep the TH semi-exposed as a star and shield generator. Burying the TH makes attackers commit more army to reach it, which raises the chance they also reach your DE. A well-placed TH draws one-star attacks and gives you a short shield while the DE stays untouched.
How many DE Drills should be inside the walls at TH12?
All of them. TH12 has two DE Drills. Both should be in the second compartment ring at minimum — ideally in the core with the DE Storage. An outer Drill is stolen multiple times an hour by Super Goblin attackers who breach one wall and sprint to it.
When does Legend League become relevant as a farming strategy at TH12?
Not until TH13+ typically. At TH12, most players are better served by a dedicated farming base in the Champions League trophy range (4,000–5,200). Legend League becomes efficient once your defenses are maxed enough to consistently hold attacks, which happens later.
