Best TH13 Farming Bases 2026 — Hero Equipment Changes the Math

Hero Equipment upgrades at TH13 cost massive amounts of Shiny Ore, Glowy Ore, and Dark Elixir. Protecting all three is the new farming challenge. Strong TH13 farming bases treat the Builder Hall storage and hero equipment resources with the same priority as DE.

TH13 changes the farming calculation. Hero Equipment was introduced with ore-based upgrade costs, and while ore doesn't sit in a storage that can be raided directly, Dark Elixir remains the primary currency for hero ability upgrades and equipment crafting. You're now upgrading four heroes simultaneously — Queen, King, Warden, Champion — and each costs significant DE. The farming base that keeps this DE safe determines how fast your heroes progress.

What Resources Matter Most at TH13?

Dark Elixir is still the primary bottleneck. At TH13, hero upgrade costs per level scale higher than at any previous TH, and you have four heroes competing for the same DE pool. Gold and Elixir still matter for laboratory upgrades and walls, but DE is what actually limits progression speed.

Treat Gold and Elixir as sacrificial bait again — outer storages positioned to satisfy attackers before they reach the DE core. This works at every TH level, and TH13 is no exception.

Super Goblin and Super Witch Are the Main Threats

At TH13, experienced farmers use either Super Goblins (fast, double resource damage) or Super Witch armies (mass Skeletons that overwhelm splash defenses and tank while the Super Witch targets resource buildings). Both attacks are cheap to run — Super Troops can be activated for just Dark Elixir that refills quickly — and both target resource buildings specifically.

The Super Witch defense differs from Super Goblin defense: Super Witches move slower but generate Skeleton swarms that die slowly to splash damage. Multi-mode Inferno Towers in the farming base core add consistent damage to Skeleton groups that would otherwise tank until Witches reach your DE.

Should You Consider Legend League at TH13?

Legend League farming (staying above 5,000 trophies to receive guaranteed Legend League loot bonuses) becomes viable at TH13 for players with near-maxed defenses. The loot bonus in Legend is fixed regardless of base design — you get the same amount whether your base is well-designed or terrible. If your defenses can hold attacks to 1–2 stars consistently, Legend League gives you predictable daily DE income without needing a specific farming base layout.

For players below max defenses, traditional farming in Champions/Titan League with a dedicated farming base layout is still more efficient.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hero Equipment change what resources I need to protect at TH13?

Hero Equipment is upgraded with Ores (Shiny, Glowy, Starry) earned through gameplay events and raids — not resources stored in your base. So your base defense focus remains unchanged: Dark Elixir is still the most critical resource to protect at TH13, since hero ability upgrades cost DE directly.

How do I defend against Super Witch farming at TH13?

Multi-mode Inferno Towers in the core kill Skeleton swarms that Super Witches generate. Without multi-mode coverage, Skeletons tank indefinitely while Super Witches target your DE Storage. A Clan Castle with Valkyries or other splash-immune troops also disrupts Super Witch attacks significantly.

Is Legend League worth it at TH13 for farming?

Only if your defenses can hold most attacks to 1–2 stars. Legend League gives a fixed daily loot bonus (including DE) regardless of base design, making it very efficient for near-max players. Below max defenses, you'll lose more loot from attacks than you gain from the bonus — traditional farming is better.

How many Inferno Towers should be in the core of a TH13 farming base?

At least two — one on multi mode to handle Super Goblin and Skeleton clusters, one on single mode to kill heroes that reach the inner ring. TH13 has additional Inferno Towers compared to TH12, giving you more flexibility to place one toward the outer ring as an early deterrent.

What's the most effective TH13 farming army to use for attacks?

Super Goblin + Earthquake is the most resource-efficient. Super Goblins cost Elixir to boost but return far more than they cost in resources per raid. A standard load is 4 Earthquakes, 30+ Super Goblins, and a few Wall Breakers — this clears most outer storages and often reaches inner DE on a well-placed breach.
