Complete TH12 ZapLaLoon guide for 2026. Destroying Air Defenses with Lightning and Earthquake spells, Lava Hound targeting, and Balloon wave for consistent three-star air attacks at Town Hall 12.
TH12 ZapLaLoon destroys two Air Defenses with Lightning Spells before deploying the air wave -- the same principle as TH11 ZapLaLoon but against a base with four ADs, two Scattershots, and an Eagle Artillery. The two surviving ADs are tanked by Lava Hounds while Balloons sweep the base. ZapLaLoon at TH12 is the most spell-efficient LaLoon variant when the target ADs are accessible from above and the Scattershots can be bypassed by choosing the correct deployment angle.
Standard TH12 ZapLaLoon (280 housing): 2 Lava Hounds (60), 32 to 36 Balloons (64 to 72), filler Minions (remaining ~148 to 156). Spells: 6 Lightning + 2 Earthquake (destroys 2 ADs), 1 Rage (Balloon wave), 1 Freeze (Eagle Artillery / Scattershot). Clan Castle: Balloons + Minions. No Healers -- all housing goes to Balloons. The large Balloon count (32 to 36) compensates for the outer defenses that Queen Walk LaLoon would have cleared.
Step 1 -- Target selection: Choose the two ADs closest to the base edge. Avoid ADs adjacent to Scattershots -- Lightning Spells landing near a Scattershot can trigger it and the Scattershot then fires on your Balloon deployment. Step 2 -- Destroy AD #1: 3 Lightning + 1 Earthquake. Confirm. Step 3 -- Destroy AD #2: 3 Lightning + 1 Earthquake. Confirm. Step 4 -- Approach angle: Deploy from the direction that puts both surviving ADs on the side of the base opposite your Balloon wave entry -- Hounds approach from inside the base where the remaining ADs are. Step 5 -- Scattershot avoidance: Choose the deployment edge with the fewer Scattershots in the first coverage zone. If one Scattershot covers the north edge and one covers the south, deploy from the east or west. Step 6 -- Lava Hound entry: Deploy 2 Hounds toward the 2 surviving ADs. Step 7 -- Balloon wave: When Hounds engage ADs, drop all Balloons. Step 8 -- Freeze on whichever Scattershot threatens the Balloon cluster. Rage on the Balloon cluster when entering the inner ring.
Unlike TH11, TH12 Scattershots add anti-air coverage that ZapLaLoon must navigate. Target the deployment angle that splits the Balloon wave between both Scattershots -- entering from the east when both Scattershots fire east means taking double coverage. Approaching from between both Scattershots means each fires on a different portion of the Balloon line.

How many Balloons does TH12 ZapLaLoon need?
Thirty-two to thirty-six. The extra Balloons beyond TH11 ZapLaLoon count compensate for TH12 Scattershot splash damage that destroys Balloons the Queen Walk would have prevented in QW LaLoon.
How do Scattershots affect TH12 ZapLaLoon?
Scattershots fire splash on Balloon clusters. Choose a deployment angle that splits the Balloon wave between both Scattershots rather than entering from a direction where both fire on the same cluster.
Which ADs should I target with Lightning Spells in TH12 ZapLaLoon?
The two ADs closest to the base edge and farthest from Scattershots. Avoid ADs adjacent to Scattershots -- Lightning near a Scattershot can trigger it during spell deployment.
Is ZapLaLoon or Queen Charge LaLoon better at TH12?
Queen Charge LaLoon when your AQ is level 55 or higher and can reliably remove a Scattershot. ZapLaLoon when ADs are close to the base edge, your AQ is lower level, or you need a faster execution.
