Complete TH15 Root Rider Super Witch guide for 2026. Monolith targeting, split attack execution, Pet assignments, Super Witch Blizzard backup, and spell timing for three-star war attacks.
Root Riders are the defining attack troop at TH15. TH15 introduces the Monolith -- a defense that reduces all troop HP by a percentage when hit. Root Rider hybrid at TH15 must account for Monolith positioning because the HP reduction can kill Root Riders mid-burrow if the Monolith fires during surfacing. The solution is to target the Monolith first with the Royal Champion while Root Riders burrow from a different angle. Destroying the Monolith before Root Riders surface in its range prevents the HP percentage reduction from triggering on the burrowing cluster.
Standard TH15 Root Rider Super Witch (320 housing): 4 Healers (28), 14 to 16 Root Riders (56 to 64 super boost housing), 3 to 4 Super Witches (24 to 32), 2 Golems (60), Wall Breakers (4 to 6), filler. Spells: 1 Rage (Queen Charge / RC Monolith targeting), 2 Rage (Root Rider wave), 2 Freeze (Monolith / Infernos), 1 Earthquake, 1 Skeleton Spell. Pet assignments: L.A.S.S.I. on AQ (wall-jump Queen Charge), Electro Owl on RC (Monolith targeting chain damage), Mighty Yak on King (burrowing corridor support), Frosty on Warden (slow aura on Root Rider surface cluster).
Step 1 -- Scout Monolith position: The Monolith is always in the inner ring adjacent to the Town Hall. Identify which side of the base it is closest to. Step 2 -- RC Monolith targeting: Deploy Royal Champion with Electro Owl from the Monolith-side edge. RC targets the Monolith due to its wall-targeting behavior -- she runs along the outside of walls toward the Monolith. Electro Owl chain lightning fires on adjacent defenses as RC approaches. Step 3 -- Queen Charge opposite side: Deploy AQ with L.A.S.S.I. from the side opposite the Monolith while RC approaches. This creates the two-angle simultaneous threat pressure. Step 4 -- Root Rider deployment: Once RC has begun engaging the Monolith, deploy all Root Riders from a third angle (perpendicular to both RC and Queen Charge entries) or from the same side as RC after she clears the Monolith. Step 5 -- Freeze on Monolith if RC has not destroyed it by the time Root Riders surface in its range. Step 6 -- Root Rider Rage on the cluster when surfacing inside the second ring. Frosty Warden slow aura reduces Scattershot and Inferno fire rate. Step 7 -- Super Witch Blizzard if Super Witches are staged: Blizzard them into the Town Hall compartment as Root Riders push through the inner ring.
The Monolith fires a beam that reduces the target troop HP by a percentage rather than a flat damage amount. At max level, this reduction deals significant damage to high-HP troops. Root Riders burrowing through Monolith range take the HP reduction when they surface within its targeting radius. Destroying or Freezing the Monolith before Root Riders surface in its range is the mandatory TH15 Root Rider adaptation.

Why does the Monolith threaten Root Rider attacks at TH15?
The Monolith reduces troop HP by a percentage when hit. Root Riders surfacing within Monolith range take this HP reduction, which can kill them mid-attack. Destroy or Freeze the Monolith before Root Riders surface in its range.
How does the Royal Champion target the Monolith at TH15?
The Royal Champion has a wall-targeting preference and runs along base walls toward the Monolith. Deploy RC from the Monolith-side edge -- she runs toward the Monolith, allowing Electro Owl to chain lightning adjacent defenses.
What Pet assignments work best for TH15 Root Rider hybrid?
L.A.S.S.I. on AQ (wall-jump Queen Charge), Electro Owl on RC (Monolith targeting chain damage), Mighty Yak on King (burrowing corridor support), Frosty on Warden (slow aura on Root Rider surface cluster).
Should Root Riders deploy from the same side as the Royal Champion at TH15?
After RC has begun engaging the Monolith, yes -- deploy Root Riders from the Monolith side or a perpendicular angle. The RC engagement confirms the Monolith is occupied or destroyed, making the Root Rider burrowing corridor safer.
