Best TH13 Hybrid Base 2026 -- Four-Hero Resource Defense

TH13 gives you four heroes defending your base -- the Barbarian King, Archer Queen, Grand Warden, and Royal Champion all contribute to both war and farming defense. A TH13 hybrid base spreads heroes across resource compartments and war compartments simultaneously, making every part of the base both loot-protected and war-capable. The key insight: heroes defending in the second ring protect resources AND force war attackers to engage them before reaching the core.

Hero Placement Across Resource Quadrants

Place each of the four heroes in a different quadrant, adjacent to a resource storage. The Barbarian King near the Gold Storage cluster, Archer Queen near the Elixir Storage cluster, Grand Warden centrally between DE and war core, and Royal Champion near the secondary Gold cluster. This creates a resource defense grid where farming attackers hitting any storage must also engage a defending hero -- costing them time and troops that would otherwise reach the next resource.

Scattershot Dual-Purpose Coverage

Both Scattershots cover the two primary approach corridors to your resource clusters. Since farming raids typically approach along the same corridors war attacks use -- straight lines toward high-value targets -- Scattershot placement that defends war approaches also naturally defends resource approaches. Orient each Scattershot so its arc covers both the adjacent resource compartment and the war corridor behind it.

Dark Elixir Core at TH13

Dark Elixir Storage belongs in the absolute core of the base at TH13, surrounded by the Town Hall and at least one Inferno. Root Rider attacks targeting DE must burrow through multiple wall layers and surface directly into an Inferno kill zone. Two Giant Bombs flanking the DE compartment punish any Hog or Root Rider stack that reaches this depth.
