Best TH9 Base Overall 2026 -- The One Layout You Need

Most TH9 players need one base that performs reasonably well in war, holds trophies, and does not lose Dark Elixir to farming raids every hour. The best overall TH9 base threads all three objectives by keeping the Town Hall inside walls (protecting a war star), spreading Air Defenses in a triangle (countering Mass Dragon), and placing Giant Bomb clusters on Hog corridors (stopping GoHo). One base, three problems solved.

The Core Design Principles

A best-overall TH9 base has seven or more compartments between the outer wall and the Town Hall. Two X-Bows on ground mode cover the primary GoWiPe and GoHo approach corridors. Both Air Defenses spread as far apart as possible inside the inner ring -- no two within double Lightning Spell range. The Dark Elixir Storage sits in the second ring between the X-Bows, protected but not buried so deep that the base loses all war-viable compartmentalization.

Town Hall Placement in an Overall Base

The Town Hall belongs two compartments from the outside -- deep enough to require real effort to reach (protecting the first war star), but not so deeply buried that the base sacrifices farming and trophy defense around it. A Town Hall this depth also places it within Air Defense firing range, so air attack funnels heading toward the TH face AD fire throughout their approach. Adjacent Giant Bombs and Spring Traps round out the TH compartment defense.

Trap Distribution for All-Around Defense

Distribute traps evenly: Giant Bomb clusters on both the primary Hog Rider corridor (war defense) and the DE Storage approach (farming defense). Air Bombs and Seeking Air Mines adjacent to each Air Defense (anti-Dragon and anti-LaLoon). Spring Traps at the two most likely wall-gap chokepoints where Wall Breaker funnels naturally concentrate. This even trap distribution ensures solid performance against all attack types rather than being excellent against one and weak against others.
