TH10 Anti Air Base Layouts 2026 -- Stop LaLoon and Dragons

Air attacks dominate TH10 wars in many clans -- LaLoon (Lava Hounds + Balloons) and Dragon spam can be reliable 3-stars against bases not specifically designed to handle them. The good news is that TH10's X-Bow, now able to target air, gives defenders a powerful additional anti-air defense when positioned correctly.

Understanding LaLoon at TH10

LaLoon works by sending Lava Hounds (high HP, low DPS tanks) directly into your Air Defenses while Balloons follow behind dealing damage. The Hound absorbs Air Defense fire until it pops, exploding into smaller Lava Pups that continue disrupting nearby defenses. Your counter strategy has two components:

• Make Air Defenses hard for Hounds to reach in a straight line (separation, surrounding defenses, Air Bombs)
• Kill Balloons with Seeking Air Mines and Double Air Bombs placed behind each Air Defense

Air Defense Spacing at TH10

Your four Air Defenses should be placed in a diamond pattern -- one at each cardinal point of the base. This ensures that a Lava Hound approaching any Air Defense cannot simultaneously draw fire away from the other three. When each Air Defense is isolated in its own area of the base, an attacker needs multiple Hounds to tank all four simultaneously, burning through their air army before Balloons can clean up.

X-Bow in Air Mode

TH10 gives you two X-Bows. Setting at least one to Air + Ground mode adds a third type of anti-air defense that LaLoon and Dragon attacks don't expect to see near the ground-level defenses. Place your air-mode X-Bow where it covers the most common Balloon approach paths -- typically toward the center-rear of the base where Balloons funnel naturally after clearing Air Defenses on one side.

Seeking Air Mine Placement

Seeking Air Mines are your best tool against Balloons. Place them in clusters of two or three immediately behind each Air Defense -- this is exactly where Balloons travel after the Hound absorbs the Air Defense fire.
