TH14 Anti 3 Star Bases 2026 — How Hero Pets Complicate the Puzzle

TH14 anti-3-star bases 2026: Hero Pets give attackers targeted damage on specific defenses, changing how base designers position air defenses, X-Bows, and trap clusters.

Designing an anti-3-star base at TH14 requires solving a problem that didn't exist at lower Town Hall levels: Hero Pets target specific defense types regardless of base layout. The Electro Owl seeks air defenses. LASSI jumps to nearby ground targets. No amount of compartmentalisation stops the Owl from eventually finding every air defense on your base — the question is how expensive you can make that journey.

Spreading Defenses That Pets Target

The foundational rule of TH14 anti-3-star design is that pet-targeted defenses must never cluster. Air defenses on the same side of the base give the Electro Owl an efficient route — it can eliminate two or three in a single Queen Walk pass. Air defenses on opposite ends of the base force the Owl to travel across the entire layout, spending the whole journey inside your defensive fire. The extra time spent is the extra time the attacker loses.

X-Bows set to ground-and-air mode are specifically valuable along the likely Owl transit path — they deal chip damage to it throughout the walk phase rather than only when the Owl surfaces near them.

The Town Hall Position in an Anti-3-Star Context

At TH14, the Town Hall should sit behind at least three wall layers in any anti-3-star design. Queen Walk Ground armies often deplete a significant portion of their Healers and main troops reaching the outer core — by the time they're approaching the Town Hall, the army should be running low on both troops and time. A Town Hall that requires a separate breach through a trap-heavy inner compartment forces a time failure from even well-executed attacks.

Scattershot Placement for Anti-3-Star

Scattershots unlock at TH12 and remain critical at TH14. In an anti-3-star design, at least one Scattershot should be positioned to cover the approach corridors the main army will use after the Queen Walk clears the outer ring. A Scattershot that activates on the main army — Super Witches, ground pushers, or Root Riders — while they're still in the outer compartments deals splash damage that compounds with Giant Bomb clusters to drain army strength before the core is reached.

The TH14 anti-3-star collection includes layouts specifically tested for full-clear denial against Queen Walk Ground openers. The TH14 CWL bases overlap significantly with anti-3-star designs — both prioritize time failure over star denial in the early phase.

Testing Before Using in CWL

Any new anti-3-star base should be tested in a few regular wars before you commit it to a CWL season. Watch replays of attacks against it — specifically look at where the Queen Walk went, which defenses the Electro Owl hit first, and how long the main push took after the opener. That replay data tells you exactly what to adjust before league week starts.
