TH9 GoWiPe Attack Guide 2026 -- Army, Spells, and Execution

GoWiPe -- Golems, Wizards, P.E.K.K.A.s -- is the most reliable ground attack at TH9 for consistent two and three-star results. Golems tank at the front while Wizards clear compartments and P.E.K.K.A.s follow up with massive single-target DPS. When the funnel is correct and spells are timed right, GoWiPe reaches the Town Hall against almost any TH9 base.

Army Composition and Spells

Standard TH9 GoWiPe (220 housing space): 2 Golems, 10 Wizards, 3 P.E.K.K.A.s, 6 Wall Breakers, 2 Giants, and Barbarians or Archers as filler (roughly 60 housing). Spells: 3 Rage Spells, 2 Heal Spells. Clan Castle: Dragon or Witch (for Wizard cleanup support). The two Golems split to create a wide tank front; P.E.K.K.A.s follow behind the Golem line targeting high-HP defenses; Wizards clean buildings on the edges of the funnel as the main army advances.

Step-by-Step Execution

Step 1 -- Funnel setup: Deploy 1 Giant and 2 Wizards on each side of your planned entry point to clear edge buildings and create a clean funnel lane into the base. Step 2 -- Golem entry: Deploy both Golems side by side at the funnel point. They create a wide tank front that stops P.E.K.K.A.s from wandering to the sides. Step 3 -- Main army: Deploy Wizards in a line behind the Golems, then P.E.K.K.A.s behind the Wizards. Drop Wall Breakers immediately as Golems approach the first wall layer. Step 4 -- Hero activation: Send Barbarian King behind the main army. He follows naturally through the cleared compartments. Step 5 -- Spell timing: First Rage on Golems when they engage the first inner ring defense. Second Rage on P.E.K.K.A.s and Wizards when they approach the Town Hall compartment. Save a Heal for the Archer Queen if she is present.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

The most common GoWiPe mistake is deploying P.E.K.K.A.s before the Golem tank line is established. P.E.K.K.A.s without a tank front wander to random buildings and deal zero war progress. The second most common mistake is wasting Wall Breakers before Golems are close to the wall -- Wall Breakers dropped early get destroyed by Mortars and Archer Towers before they reach the wall. Deploy Wall Breakers when Golems are within 3 tiles of the target wall.
