TH16 adds the Ricochet Cannon and Multi-Archer Tower to the hybrid toolkit. Both defenses deal multi-target damage that is equally punishing to farming raid armies (which rely on mass troops) and war attack armies (which cluster for Blizzard or Root Rider pushes). A TH16 hybrid base positions both new defenses so their coverage overlaps the resource ring and the war core approach simultaneously.

Ricochet Cannon Covering Resource and War Approaches

The Ricochet Cannon's chain damage is most effective against clustered troops. In a hybrid layout, position it in the compartment between the resource ring and the war core. Farming raids that cluster troops to break through the resource ring wall take full Ricochet chain damage. War attack armies that stack troops for a Super Witch Blizzard or Root Rider push into the core face the same chain damage. The single placement serves both defense objectives.

Multi-Archer Tower as Outer Coverage

The Multi-Archer Tower fires on multiple targets simultaneously, making it effective against the distributed troop deployments common in farming raids (Barch, Giants, Wall Breakers spread across the base perimeter). Position it centrally in the second ring so it has line-of-sight to both the outermost resource compartments and the inner war core. Its wide radius makes central placement more efficient than corner placement for dual-purpose coverage.

Compartment Distribution for TH16 Hybrid

A TH16 hybrid base should have twelve or more compartments -- enough depth to protect resources from farming raids while also providing war-viable compartmentalization. Spread resources across three rings: outer ring holds no resources, second ring holds Gold and Elixir Storages, third ring holds Dark Elixir adjacent to the core defenses.
