TH15 CWL bases 2026: the RC Walk opener dominates Clan War League at this level. Here's how to pick a layout that slows the walk and survives the follow-up army.
At TH15 in Clan War League, the Royal Champion Walk isn't just common — it's the expected opener for nearly every serious attacker. Before the main army deploys, the RC strips Scattershots or air defenses around your base perimeter. In CWL, where every star your base gives up affects your clan's weekly medal total, the quality of your defense against this specific opener matters more than at any other Town Hall level.
The RC Walk slows down when the defenses it wants to target are buried inside the base rather than on the perimeter. Air defenses and Scattershots positioned two wall layers deep force the RC to navigate through compartments, taking trap damage and defensive fire on the way. A walk that takes 90 seconds to strip two defenses is a walk that leaves far less time for the main army — and time failures are how CWL bases earn their keep.
Seeking Air Mines and Spring Traps placed along the likely RC path add chip damage throughout the walk. The RC has a large health pool, but consistent chip damage forces the attacker to use a Healing Spell to keep it alive, spending a key spell that the main army needs.
The Monolith is the single most important defense to protect at TH15. In CWL specifically, attackers plan their RC Walk route specifically to eliminate the Monolith during the opener if it's reachable. A Monolith in the very center of the base — surrounded by compartments on all sides — forces the RC to go deeper than any attacker wants during the walk phase, or forces them to leave it active and deal with it during the main push.
After the walk, TH15 CWL attackers typically deploy Root Rider armies or Dragon Rider combinations. Root Riders burrow underground to target the Monolith or Town Hall, while Dragon Riders apply sustained air pressure. A strong CWL base pre-places Giant Bombs on Root Rider underground paths and Seeking Air Mines on Dragon approach corridors so both threats hit damage before reaching the core.
The TH15 CWL base collection includes layouts specifically tested in league play. For general war use, TH15 war bases covers a broader range of design styles including those optimized for regular war rather than strict CWL star denial.
CWL resets monthly. Before each new season, check whether any patch has adjusted Root Rider, RC Hero Equipment, or Dragon Rider since your last base update. A layout that held consistently in one CWL season may have a newly discovered weakness by the next. Fresh community-tested downloads reflect current patching in ways that older layouts can't.
