Best TH15 Farming Bases 2026 — Root Rider and Super Witch Defense

Town Hall 15 introduces Root Riders — the first troop that ignores walls entirely by burrowing underground. This changes farming defense fundamentally. All the wall layers and compartments that kept Goblin Knife and Super Goblin armies out of your DE core don't stop a Root Rider. For the first time, resource protection at high Town Hall levels requires trap-based defense rather than wall-based defense.

How Root Riders Attack at TH15?

Root Riders burrow underground and surface directly beside defenses, bypassing walls completely. In farming attacks, they're paired with support troops — typically Super Witches generating Skeleton swarms, or Super Goblins dropped into the breach the Root Rider creates. The Root Rider takes out a defense from underground, then surfaces to tank while Goblins or Skeletons clear the surrounding resource buildings.

Standard farming attacks using Root Riders don't deploy many of them — one or two Root Riders plus a larger wave of Super Goblins or Super Witches is the common pattern. The Root Rider does the "wall removal" that Earthquake spells did at TH11–TH14.

Defending Root Riders in a Farming Base

Giant Bombs and Multi Bombs placed underground — on the approach paths Root Riders most commonly take — deal significant damage when a Root Rider surfaces. Place Giant Bomb clusters around your DE Storage and DE Drills, not on the outer ring where Root Riders arrive. Root Riders surface beside defenses, not beside resource buildings, so the path from a defense to your DE core is where traps matter most.

Your Scattershots also deal ground damage in addition to air damage — position at least one Scattershot where its ground splash covers the area around your DE core.

Super Witch + Root Rider Farming Combination

The most efficient TH15 farming army uses Root Riders to clear key defenses, then Super Witches to flood the resulting gap with Skeleton swarms. Multi-mode Inferno Towers are essential in the core to handle Skeleton groups — without multi coverage, Skeleton swarms reach your DE Storage before defenses can clear them. Position your multi-mode Infernos where they cover the spaces between your DE Storage and any defensive wall gaps a Root Rider might create.

Legend League and TH15 Farming

Most active TH15 players operate in Legend League — the fixed daily loot bonus becomes very efficient at this level, and base design in Legend matters more for maintaining trophy counts than for loot protection.
