Best TH16 Farming Bases 2026 — Balanced Resource Protection at Endgame

TH16 farming is endgame farming. You have two powerful new defenses — the Ricochet Cannon and Multi-Archer Tower — but you're also spending more resources simultaneously than at any previous level. Super Troops require Elixir to boost, hero equipment upgrades consume Gold and DE, and wall upgrades drain Gold for months. Protecting everything equally isn't possible, so prioritization still matters.

What to Prioritize in a TH16 Farming Base

Dark Elixir remains the hardest to recover quickly. Even at TH16, DE storage caps out and Drills are the only passive income. Losing a Drill to Root Rider attacks or Super Goblins multiple times per session adds up. Position both DE Drills in the same core ring as the DE Storage — not because they're impossible to reach, but because making attackers commit a significant army to reach them makes the attack inefficient.

Gold and Elixir matter more at TH16 than at earlier levels because Super Troop boosts are expensive and equipment upgrades are ongoing. Still, the sacrificial ring principle holds: outer Gold and Elixir storages bait attackers into committing their army before they reach DE.

The Ricochet Cannon as a Farming Defense

The Ricochet Cannon fires bouncing cannonballs that hit multiple troops in sequence. In a farming context, it's effective against Root Rider approaches because it deals ground-level damage across a corridor. Position it to cover the path between your outer defenses and your DE core — Root Riders burrowing toward your DE will surface into Ricochet fire when they emerge.

Multi-Archer Tower and Super Goblin Swarms

The Multi-Archer Tower fires at multiple air and ground targets simultaneously. Against Super Goblin farming swarms, it deals consistent damage to multiple Goblins at once — more effective than single-targeting defenses that kill one Goblin while twenty others clear your storages. Place the Multi-Archer Tower where it covers the entry point into your resource core.

Root Riders at TH16

Root Rider attacks are more common at TH16 than at any lower level — most active players have them researched and use them in farming armies.
