The only meaningful distinction is trap distribution: an overall base distributes traps across war, farming, and trophy approaches, while a pure war base concentrates all traps on war corridors. For players who engage in all three modes, the overall base is the clear choice.

Max-Level Defense Convergence at TH18

Every premium defense at TH18 fires at full power against every attack type. Max Monolith kills Dragon Riders and Root Riders at the same percentage rate. Max Ricochet Cannon chain-damages Super Witch clusters and Dragon Rider stacks identically. Max Multi-Archer Tower fires 8 arrows at any 8 targets regardless of attack type. Max Scattershots deal identical splash to air and ground swarms. Max single-mode Infernos burn war heroes and farming Queens at the same rate. At TH18, all-around performance and war performance converge because max level eliminates mode-specific efficiency gaps.

Balanced Trap Distribution

The one design decision that distinguishes an overall TH18 base from a pure war base: trap distribution. Distribute Giant Bomb clusters evenly across war corridors (Root Rider approaches), farming corridors (Queen Walk entry angles), and trophy corridors (GoWitch advance paths). Spring Traps near storage compartments serve farming and trophy defense simultaneously. Skeleton Traps on ground mode in the core serve all three modes. Balanced distribution maintains 85 to 90% efficiency in each mode rather than 100% in one.
