TH11 Upgrade Order 2026 -- What to Upgrade First at Town Hall 11

TH11 adds the Grand Warden and Eagle Artillery -- both completely transformative for war attacks and defense. The Grand Warden ability to make troops temporarily invincible enables three-star attacks that were impossible at TH10. The Eagle Artillery fires on everything from a central position and activates early enough to catch every large attack. Get both built and upgraded fast -- they determine your war contribution more than any other upgrade at TH11.

Priority 1: Grand Warden -- Build and Level to 20+

Build the Grand Warden on Day 1 of reaching TH11. He is Dark Elixir-based, so redirect your DE farming immediately from hero levels to Warden levels. A level 10 Warden ability lasts long enough to carry a GoWitch or LaLoon push through the most dangerous defense window. A level 20 Warden on ground mode covers virtually the entire inner ring of a TH11 base. Continue Barbarian King and Archer Queen to 50 simultaneously -- heroes still matter, but Warden levels are the new bottleneck for attack power at TH11.

Priority 2: Eagle Artillery and Infernos

Build the Eagle Artillery immediately and upgrade it alongside Infernos. Eagle Artillery at level 1 already activates after 150 housing space and fires on troops across the entire base. Higher levels increase DPS -- each level matters significantly for war defense. Both Infernos continue upgrading to max level (level 6 at TH11). These three defenses -- Eagle Artillery plus two Infernos -- form the core of every competitive TH11 war base. Without them upgraded, even a perfect base layout underperforms.

Priority 3: Lab -- Super Troops, EDrag, and GoWitch

TH11 unlocks Super Troops (via temporary elixir boost) but lab upgrades for Super Troops come later. Priority lab order: Electro Dragon (enables Penta-EDrag and hybrid attacks), Witch (improves GoWitch), Hog Rider (continues GoHo), Bowler (enables BoWitch). Air Defenses upgrade to level 8 -- priority alongside Infernos. Four Air Defenses at TH11 at max level are required for war base competitiveness. Walls: upgrade to level 11 as a filler project. Full level 11 walls before moving to TH12.
