TH12 Anti Electro Dragon Base Layouts 2026 -- Stop Air Spam

Electro Dragon spam is one of the most frustrating attacks to defend against at TH12 -- a well-executed ED army can chain through tightly packed defenses in seconds. But ED spam has a clear weakness: spacing. When buildings are spread out properly and Scattershots have clear coverage, ED armies lose efficiency quickly. This guide explains how to build and find TH12 bases specifically designed to shut down air attacks.

How Electro Dragons Work (and How to Counter Them)

Each Electro Dragon fires a chain lightning bolt that jumps between up to 5 buildings within range. The total damage from a chain is far higher than a single strike -- the issue is that closely packed defenses amplify this damage by giving the chain more targets to hit. The counter is simple in principle:

  • Space defensive buildings at least 4 tiles apart outside the core
  • Keep only essential defenses tightly packed inside the core -- Inferno Towers, Eagle Artillery, Air Defenses
  • Place Air Bombs and Seeking Air Mines on every likely approach corridor

Scattershot Placement for Anti-Air

The Scattershot is your most powerful anti-air defense at TH12. Position your two Scattershots on opposite ends of the base -- ideally in diagonal corners. This ensures that no air army can approach from any direction without immediately entering Scattershot range. Dragons that try to fly around one Scattershot fly straight into the other.

Air Defense Spacing

Your Air Defenses at TH12 should be placed in a diamond or cross pattern across the base. Each one should be far enough from the others that targeting one doesn't expose another to the same attack wave. When attackers are forced to send Electro Dragons to different sections of the base to knock out each Air Defense individually, they run out of army before clearing the core.

Defending Lavaloon

Lavaloon attacks target Air Defenses with Lava Hounds and send Balloons behind them. Against this attack, your Seeking Air Mines are the primary counter -- place them immediately behind your Air Defenses where Balloons funnel naturally after the Hound tanks through. Double Air Bombs placed where Balloon groups cluster deal significant splash damage that single-targeting Air Defenses cannot. The Bat Spell Threat

Bat Spells create waves of Skeletons that overwhelm Scattershot splash. The counter is Inferno Tower multi-mode -- multi-mode Infernos rack up DPS on groups of Skeletons faster than any other defense. Position at least one multi-mode Inferno Tower where it covers the most common Bat Spell drop zones (typically the open area just outside the core).
