TH9 GoHo Attack Guide 2026 -- Hog Rider War Strategy

GoHo -- Golems plus Hog Riders -- is the most technically demanding attack at TH9 and the most rewarding when executed correctly. Hog Riders jump walls and target defenses, enabling them to reach the Town Hall through any compartment structure. The skill ceiling is Healing Spell timing to keep Hogs alive through Giant Bomb clusters. Master this timing and GoHo becomes the highest-consistency three-star attack at TH9.

Army Composition and Spells

Standard TH9 GoHo (220 housing): 1 Golem (30), 18 to 20 Hog Riders (36 to 40 housing), 10 Wizards (40), 5 Giants (10), 6 Wall Breakers (6), Archers to fill. Spells: 4 Heal Spells, 1 Rage Spell (or 4 Heal, 1 Poison for CC kill). Clan Castle: 5 to 6 Hog Riders. The Hog Rider count (18 to 20) is the most important variable -- too few Hogs and double Giant Bomb clusters kill the stack. The Golem acts as a primary tank for the outer defenses while Hogs clean up the inner ring.

Step-by-Step Execution

Step 1 -- Scout Giant Bombs: Send a single Hog Rider along each major defensive corridor before the main deployment. If the Hog dies instantly from a double Giant Bomb cluster, you have identified the trap. Adjust your Hog deployment direction to avoid that corridor. Step 2 -- Funnel with Giants and Wizards: Deploy Giants on each side of the main entry to clear outer buildings and create a clean Hog entry lane. Step 3 -- Hog Rider deployment: Drop all Hog Riders in a concentrated line at the entry point, not spread across the full base edge. Concentrated Hogs trigger Giant Bombs in one wave and survive via Heal Spells. Step 4 -- Heal Spell timing: Drop the first Heal when Hogs enter the second defense ring and HP starts dropping. Drop a second Heal when HP drops again mid-base. Third Heal as backup if Hogs encounter a second Giant Bomb cluster. Step 5 -- Golem and cleanup: Deploy Golem and Wizards behind the Hog line as cleanup crew for any buildings the Hogs skip.

Tips and Common Mistakes

The single biggest GoHo mistake is not scouting Giant Bombs. A double Giant Bomb cluster that kills 15 Hogs mid-attack ends the three-star immediately. Always send one or two Hogs ahead as scouts before committing the full stack. The second mistake is spreading Hogs too wide -- Hogs spread across the full base edge hit different Giant Bomb clusters sequentially, making Heal Spell coverage impossible.
